Journalist, writer, biographer and historian Samuel Hopkins Adams was created along the banking institutions of Lake Erie in Dunkirk, NY, on 26 January 1871. His parents had been Myron, a ministe3r, and Hester Rose Hopkins Adams, the girl of the theologian.
