Sonya, a graduate using a laws degree from NY School, briefly practiced laws before learning to be a newspaper editor and fiction article writer. After many of her tales were adapted towards the display screen, she became a screenwriter. Levien composed many screenplays for Will Rogers movies as well as for Fox studios through the 1930s. She composed for several studios including RKO and Warner Bros., but the majority of her function was with MGM.
