Ted Toddy was a movie producer and distributor. He was created in Russia to Mordecai and Gilda Tartakoff. He initial worked for Common Photos and later on for the Southern department of Columbia Photos before developing what would later on end up being the Atlanta-based Toddy Photos Company, specialized in the creation and distribution of “competition” movies, in 1940. Archival materials associated with the Toddy Photos Company was offered towards the Academy of FILM Arts and Sciences in 1999 by acting professional Giancarlo Esposito, and it is transferred in the Unique Collections from the Margaret Herrick Library from the Academy, situated in Beverly Hillsides. Toddy was owning a carnival in Atlanta in 1952 when he bought the 1934 Ford Model 730 Deluxe Sedan where famed standard bank robbers Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker experienced met their fatalities, and he exhibited it both in the carnival and on the highway for several years. When Bonnie and Clyde (1967) arrived in 1967, Toddy got the automobile out of storage space and exhibited it countrywide as the “Accurate Bonnie and Clyde Loss of life Car.” It’s presently exhibited in the Primm Resort & Gambling establishment on I-15 within the Nevada-California state collection.
