Last Poets were rappers from the civil legal rights era. Combined with the changing local landscape came the brand new York City-hip group known as THE FINAL Poets, who utilized obstreperous verse to chide a country whose inclination was to keep the colonial yoke throughout the neck from the disenfranchised. Soon after the death of Martin Luther King, THE FINAL Poets were born.
