Mini Biography

In the 30s he remaining school in mid-course to understand drawing in the Kawahata Illustration School. His profession was interrupted from the Sino-Japanese battle and he visited the Chinese front side, but he came back prior to the end from the battle. Affected by his popular cartoonist older sibling Ryûichi Yokoyama, in 1950 Taizô released “Taizô Manga”. In 1951 he produced his most well-known personality, Puu-san (“Mr. Poo”), using with it a peculiar sketching technique. In 1953 Puu-san was changed into a live-action film where Taizô and Ryûichi do just a little cameo. Its movie director, Kon Ichikawa, was therefore impressed with him that he employed Taizô like a scriptwriting specialist for his pursuing film “A Billionaire”. From 1954 to 1992 Yokoyama centered on satirical comics for the “Asashi Shinbun”.
