Virgil Ross was a legendary animator who worked chiefly at Warner Brothers through the ‘Golden Many years of Animation’. Having relocated through the rates from the pioneering studios (like a trainee for Charles Mintz, in 1930, for $6 weekly salary, as well as for Walter Lantz — briefly — in 1935), Ross became a member of Tex Avery at Leon Schlesinger’s ‘Termite Terrace’.
