The eldest son of the Chinese-American businessman, Paul Wing started tap dance on street sides as a kid. After graduating from Palo Alto SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, he hitchhiked to LA were he quickly began carrying out in vaudeville. He fulfilled Helen and Dorothy Takahashi, the Japanese-American daughters from the owners of the LA “Chinese language” cafe, and created a dance troupe, “The Three Mahjongs”. Quickly, Paul required Dorothy to Chicago, where they renamed themselves “Plaything and Wing, Oriental Terp Duo” and for quite some time up to Globe War II, these were headliners on numerous vaudeville circuits. The take action split up in 1942 when Paul was drafted in to the Military and Dorothy, who couldn’t go back to the Western Coastline as her family members was interned inside a camp in Utah, performed with her sister Helen as the Plaything Sisters.
