José Gomes de Abreu (nickname “Zequinha”), well-known piano participant and composer, was created in Santa Rita perform Passa Quatro, a little city in the Sao Paulo Condition, in Sept 19 of 1880. He began his piano research at age group of 6. José de Abreu was owner of the drugstore, mayor of Santa Rita perform Passa Quatro, piano instructor. Also he performed in the theater, on silent films. He is writer of several waltz and “choros”: “Sururú na Cidade”, “Branca”, “Tardes em Lindóia”, etc. But his most well-known work is usually “Tico-Tico no Fubá”, performed from the American organist Ethel Smith and sang by Carmen Miranda in Copacabana (1947). Zequinha de Abreu passed away in São Paulo, SP, on January 22, 1935.
