Born in Britain, movie director Alber Ponte moved to Spain when he was five years of age. As an adolescent, he says, he travelled “like Jack port London.” His voyages eventually put him in person using a filmmaking hero. “In 1984, ” recalls Ponte, “I used to be in Mexico with John Huston. I composed a script with him. I’ve a lovely notice he delivered to me. His loss of life was the closing of my fantasy. It’s accurate.”
