Singer/songwriter Andy Kim was created as Andrew Youakim on Dec 5, 1952 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Andy visited NEW YORK in his middle teens with simply $ 40 in his pocket to try his fortune in the music business. He lasted several short times in NY and returned back again to Canada. Undaunted, Kim produced a second trip to NY. He worked well at various unusual jobs and documented demos privately before persuading music manufacturer/songwriter Jeff Barry to provide him a rest. Andy documented his debut one “How’d We Ever UNDERSTAND THIS Method?” for the Steed label in Apr, 1968. The tune subsequently continued to become Best 20 radio strike in both Canada and America as well. His follow-up one “Capture ‘Em Up Baby” was prohibited from various r / c, but non-etheless still were able to sell half of a million copies. Kim have scored another Best 20 strike with “Rainbow Trip” and got a high 10 smash achievement along with his wonderfully catchy rendition of “Baby, I REALLY LIKE You.” He earned the Juno Award for top level Male Vocalist in 1968. Andy co-wrote the deliciously bubbly and infectious bubblegum pop traditional “Sugar, Glucose,” that was an enormous #1 strike for the Archies in 1969. He co-wrote extra tracks for the Archies aswell as co-wrote a small number of songs for the record “Adjustments” with the Monkees. Kim strike another one best from the ballpark using the groovy “Rock and roll Me Lightly;” this tune soared to #1 for the Billboard pop graphs in nov 1974 and marketed six million copies. Following loss of life of his dad in 1976, Andy got a hiatus through the music business. He came back beneath the pseudonym Baron Longfellow many years later on: he documented a self-titled debut recording in 1980 as well as the follow-up recording “Prisoner by Style” in 1984. He also released the solitary “Powerdrive” under his Longfellow alias in 1991. Recently Kim released the five track Compact disc EP “I Forgot to say” in 2004.
