An enigmatic and far loved comedy acting professional Arthur Mullard carved a distinctive niche for himself in a bunch of English comedy movies and television shows. The sterotype Cockney he was created in Islington, North London where he was known by local people as ‘The Dook of Islington’. He left college in 14 to are a butcher’s young man. At 18 he became a member of the Military and became his regiment’s boxing champ. After departing the Causes he became a specialist boxer for a limited period. After World War Two he used acting, mainly like a stuntman operating at Pinewood and Ealing Studios within their heyday.
