Getting started as a kid actor in 1915, Ben Alexander’s first roles had been within the motion pictures of such directors as Cecil B. DeMille and D.W. Griffith. He later on graduated to juvenile qualified prospects and assisting parts in sound movies, most notably in every Quiet over the Traditional western Front side (1930). When his performing career slowed up within the middle-’30s, he discovered a new profession as an effective radio announcer. Alexander was pretty much retired when manufacturer Jack Webb selected him for the section of his detective partner in it series Dragnet (1951). Alexander afterwards performed another detective on Howard Duff’s Television series The Felony Squad (1966).
