With classic patrician features and an unbiased, nonconformist personality, Capucine began her film debut in 1949 at age 21 with an appearance in the film Rendez-vous de juillet (1949). She went to college in France and received a BA level in foreign dialects. Married for half a year in her early twenties, she under no circumstances remarried. In 1957, she was found out by movie director Charles K. Feldman while operating like a high-fashion model for Givenchy in Paris and was taken to Hollywood to review performing under Gregory Ratoff. She was place under agreement by Columbia studios in 1958 and got her 1st leading component in the film Music Without End (1960). She produced six more main movies in the first to middle 1960s, two which (The Lion (1962) as well as the 7th Dawn (1964)) starred William Holden, with whom she got a two-year affair. Shifting from Hollywood to a penthouse house in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1962, she continuing making movies, mainly in European countries, until her suicide in 1990.
