Given birth to in Berlin, Germany in Apr, 1953, Christopher Franke studied classical music and structure in the Berlin Conservatory. In those days he was affected by such composers as Krzysztof Penderecki, John Cage and Karlheinz Stockhausen and was positively involved in rock and roll and jazz music. Regarding his structure teacher, Franke create a sound studio room within a Berlin music college. The experimental excursions led to a task that evolved in to the Berlin College of Digital Music.
