Christy Cabanne was, along with Sam Newfield and William Beaudine, probably one of the most prolific directors in the annals of American movies. A graduate of the united states Naval Academy, Cabanne spent many years in the navy, departing the support in 1908. He chosen a profession in the theatre, and became a movie director aswell as an acting professional. Although performing was his main occupation, when he finally broke in to the film business it had been as a movie director. He became a member of the Good Arts Co., after that was employed mainly because an associate to D.W. Griffith. Being truly a published writer, he discovered himself employed by Metro Photos to create a serial. From then on he shaped his own creation business, but shut it down a couple of years afterwards and became a movie director for hire, generally of low- to medium-budget movies for such studios as FBO, Associated Exhibitors, Tiffany and Pathe. Although he proved helpful in the rarefied atmosphere at MGM on the few events, he was generally found slaving away at the low end of lower-level studios. In the 1930s his fortunes found a little and he do a substantial amount of work at General, but following that his profession nosedived and he finished up cranking out inexpensive westerns, shoddy jungle images and limp horror movies for famous brands Monogram, PRC and Display screen Guild.
