The son of the singing band leader, McCann began his career as a kid actor on radio. He performed on many NYC centered radio applications. Before he went onto create his personal stand up take action performed at many NYC/NJ/LI nightclubs and on many well-known TV variety displays. For a while he took a hiatus from nightclub and Television performing to review using the Pasadena Playhouse, where he gave a memorable overall performance in their creation of ’12th Night time’ as Sir Toby Belch. Following the cancellation from the second option on Fri June 9, 1967, Ashley and McCann proceeded to go their separate methods. McCann proceeded to go onto turn into a effective comic/character acting professional and mimic, performing voice over for most TV cartoon displays and playing personality parts on several dramatic and comedic Television series and films. Paul Ashley utilized his puppets in commercial films and commercial stage displays. Ashley was slated to reunite with McCann for “Pounds Children’s Theatre” and another Television puppet display “Tiny Television”. But Ashley was pressured to drop out both tasks, when it had been found that he was experiencing Alzheimer’s Disease and McCann required over because the show’s sponsor and performer. “Pounds Children’s Theatre” produced its debut in Sept of 1983 and was around the air for just one time of year.
