Dietmar Hochmuth was created in 1954 in Berlin/GDR. Between 1972 and ’73 he worked well as assistant movie director for the DEFA Studios in Babelsberg. In 1973 he relocated to Moscow to be able to research film in the VGIK (course of Georgi Danelia). Since 1979 he produced 4 feature movies and about 20 documentaries. Furthermore to filmmaking, he also functions as an writer, translator and publisher. In 1996 he founded his personal publishing house known as PotemkinPress.
