Mini Biography

He was created and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and was a specialist DJ in the DC region. From 1994- 1999 he competed in the Country wide Poetry Slam, and was the 1998 and 99 Haiku Slam Champ. Areas his poems have already been published include Period Newspaper, The Washington Post, Callaloo, Antioch Review, Crimson Brick Review, Beltway Quarterly as well as the anthologies Gathering Surface, Love Poetry ALOUD, Meow: Spoken Phrase from the Dark Cat, Brief Fuse, Role Contact, Def Poetry Jam, 360 Levels of Dark Poetry, Slam (The Reserve), Revival: Spoken Phrase from Lollapallooza, Poetry Country, Beyond the Frontier, Spoken Phrase Revolution, Capture a Fire, as well as the Dark Rooster Public Inn, an anthology of poems and photos of visible artwork. In 1995, he received the Furious Rose “Rising Poet Prize” from Adam Madison University. Shows are the Today Display, the documentary SlamNation, on Wager, and in the feature film Slam. A Cave Canem fellow and the daddy of a son, he includes a Compact disc of jazz and poetry on Dark Magi Music, entitled “LibationSong”.
