Edwin J. Burke, among first NY playwrights to go to Hollywood after development of “talkies”, was created on 30 August, 1889, at Albany, NY. In 1910, after participating in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NEW YORK, he started his acting profession playing lead jobs for an area Shakespearean company. Afterwards he became a stage movie director for a journeying stock organization.
