Eleni Karaindrou was created in the hill town of Teichio in central Greece and was raised in Athens, where she studied piano and theory in the Hellenikon Odion. From 1969-74 she analyzed ethnomusicology in Paris and, on time for Greece, founded the Lab for Traditional Devices in the ORA Cultural Center. She’s since been a dynamic campaigner with respect to Greece’s musical assets. Karaindrou includes a lengthy history of composing for film and theater; to day, some 18 feature movies, 13 takes on and 10 tv series have presented her music. Although the majority of her function continues to be with Greek directors, she’s also collaborated with Chris Marker, Jules Dassin and Margarethe von Trotta. Eleni Karaindrou continues to be connected with Theodoros Angelopoulos since 1982.
