Fabio Vacchi studied with Giacomo Manzoni and Franco Donatoni; he went to courses in the Berkshire Music Middle in Tanglewood. He earned the Koussewitzky Reward in Structure (1974), as well as the 1st prize in the Gaudeamus Competition in Holland (1976).
