Mini Biography

The Dziga Vertov Group (People from france: Groupe Dziga Vertov) was formed in 1968 by two politically active filmmakers, Jean-Luc Godard and Jean-Pierre Gorin. Jean-Henri Roger and Armand Marco became a member of the group in 1969. Their movies are defined mainly for Brechtian forms, Marxist ideology, and too little personal authorship. The group, called after 1920s-’30s Soviet filmmaker Dziga Vertov, was dissolved immediately after the conclusion of Notice to Jane: A STUDY In regards to a Still (1972).
