Heather was created and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario and are the owners of The XY Firm. A grad from the Confederation University Film Production plan, her films have got played world-wide at celebrations – including Sundance (’09), the Toronto International Film Celebration (’10, ’13) & the Cannes* Brief Part (’11) (*Out of competition). (2011) She was nominated for Ontario’s Leading Award to be a superb College Graduate, in the group of Innovative Arts & Style. (2012) She was preferred for the Toronto Worldwide Film Festival Talent Lab, with Creative governors Stephen Woolley, Jennifer Baichwal, Scott McGehee and David Siegel, and several particular guests including Ed Uses up, Jason Reitman & James Schamus. (2013) Heather produced the feature film ‘Empire of Dirt and grime’ (RedCloud Studios/Mongrel Media, Director: Peter Stebbings – TIFF 2013 World Premiere). She also created the humor web-series, Microwave Porn for Cancelproof & YouTube (2 million+ strikes). She relocated to Sudbury, Ontario to keep to function in the North Ontario film sector. (2014) ‘Empire of Dirt and grime’ received 5 Canadian Screen Award nominations, including Greatest Motion Picture, Greatest Lead Actress, Greatest Supporting Actress, First Screenplay & Greatest Picture Editing. ‘The Golden Solution’ won Greatest Short on the Canadian Film Celebration, and Best Brief on the Director’s Guild of Canada Honours. ‘The Golden Solution’ was additionally nominated for Greatest Humor on the Golden Sheaf Honours, and Best Brief Film on the Canadian Humor Honours. Heather now functions regular as the Film Outreach Official for North Ontario, offering film liaison and talking to services to growing and founded filmmakers employed in the area.
