Heather Rankin was created in Mabou, Nova Scotia, the eleventh of 12 kids. In 1989, after graduating using a BFA in Theater from Acadia School, Heather and her siblings, John Morris, Raylene, Jimmy and Cookie, documented their initial record The Rankin Family members. Over another a decade The Rankin Family members released five complete albums, a five tune EP and two compilation albums. They toured often across Canada, america, the uk and in Australia and New Zealand. The continued to win six Juno Honours, three Canadian Nation Music Honours, an American Nation Music Television Prize and fifteen East Coastline Music Awards. Mixed product sales of their recordings exceeded 1.5 million copies. The Rankin Family members disbanded in 1999 and the next season Heather and her sisters recorded background vocals for Carly Simon’s record THE BED ROOM Tapes. She after that starred in a number of musicals and has including Jesus Christ Superstar at Neptune Theater in Halifax, Nova Scotia, The Piper at Manufacturer Theater in Toronto and Bingo by Daniel MacIvor at Neptune Theater, that she was nominated to get a 2012 Robert Merritt Award.
