Heinz Lewin was created 22 March, 1888 in Wiesbaden, Germany. The seizure of power from the Nazis in 1933 pressured the Jewish composer to improve his name to Heinz Letton, after that to flee, 1st to Prague, Czechoslovakia, after that London, Britain. Finally he resolved in France. There, Letton was caught in 1939 as an foe alien. Deported to Auschwitz focus camp in Poland, he was murdered soon after arriving in 1942.
