Ina Ray Hutton, girl of pianist Marvel Ray, sang and danced in stage revues from age 8, culminating in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1934. In middle-1934, she structured an “all-girl” music group, the Melodears, offering hot golf swing music and Ina Ray’s sizzling hot dance in sexy dresses. Ina Ray starred with her music group in a number of Paramount musical pants, 1935-37, and made an appearance as herself in a few feature movies, but her key state to film popularity may be the starring function within a Columbia musical, SINCE Venus (1944) (1944). The Melodears split up in 1939 and Ina Ray arranged an all-male music group which performed through the forties. She was the just woman to business lead a prominent Big Music group in that period. From 1951-1956 her brand-new all-female band acquired a present on regional Television, with a short national network work in 1956. She retired from music in 1968; she was divorced from her 4th hubby, businessman ‘Jack port Curtis’ when she passed away at age group 67 of problems from diabetes.
