Ivor Roberts (19 July 1925 – 5 Sept 1999) was an British acting professional and a tv continuity announcer who have often appeared in comedic tasks. Created in Nottingham, he returned to performing following services in the Royal Navy through the Second Globe War. Roberts began his television profession like a continuity announcer on local tv in Wales, doing work for TWW before that business dropped its franchise in 1968. Among his better-known roles were the character types of Arnold Thomas in the 1995-97 television series Oh, Doctor Beeching! and Mr Barnes in the next, third and 4th group of You Rang, M’Lord?. He also produced a visitor appearance, like a police officer, in a single bout of George and Mildred. Another significant appearance was as Mr. Chick in Dombey and Kid. He also performed a component in “Porridge”. He died in Cardiff, Wales, in 1999 in age 74.
