Jean Winstanley was created in 1913 in Lancashire, Britain as Jean Beattie Winstanley. She studied Sculpture at Manchester Regional University of Artwork and Style and was an associate from the art college theatre group. She studied Performing at RADA, graduating in 1934. She spent period using the Manchester Repertory Theatre. She met fellow actor John Ford whilst these were understudying the best roles in John Geilgud’s Shakepearian production of Romeo Juliet plus they married 90 days later. 1936: The Seagull – Anton Checkov John Gielgud, Edith Evans, Stephen Haggard, Frederick Lloyd, Peggy Ashcroft, George Devine, Clare Harris, Martita Hunt, Leon Quartermaine, Ivor Barnard, Michael Brennan, Jean Winstanley, Alec Guinness (like a Workman), Andrew Churchman; dir:Komisarjevsky She appeared in the film Said O’Reilly to McNab (1937) and tv film The White colored Chateau (1938).
