Movie director and Managing Movie director Jenö Janovics was among the pioneers of film in Hungary. He was instrumental in the forming of a organized film creation: Between 1914-17 his film businesses Proja and Corvin caused important directors like Michael Curtiz, Márton Garas and Alexander Korda. In 1918 he founded a fresh company using the name Transylvania. His favorite genre was the literary – mainly classical – version. He himself made an appearance before the camera aswell. He developed a film network in Transylvania hence promoting the product sales of his initial films. At the start from the 40s he had written brief film scripts for the Hungarian Film Bureau (Magyar Filmiroda – MFI). His wife was Lili Poór, the recognized dramatic actress.
