Mini Biography

Jimmy Barnes was created Apr, 28 1956 in Glasgow, Scotland. His initial name was ‘Wayne Dixon Swan’ and his dad was a featherweight boxing champ in Glasgow. In 1961/62 his family members relocated to Australia. After playing inside a college band (he changed Bon Scott (who became a member of AC/DC) as business lead vocalist in the music group Fraternity. After that, aged 16 . 5, he joined Chilly Chisel in 1973. First they performed the pubs of Adelaide, they performed the pubs of Australia and lastly they got an archive agreement in 1976. Right now, Chilly Chisel are Australian background – one of the better bands Australia ever endured. They split in 1983 because they believed they weren’t playing great music anymore plus they didn’t wish to rip their supporters off with another record. Jimmy started his single profession and his initial album’Bodyswerve’, made by Tag Opitz, was published in 1984. It included the strike singles ‘No Second Price’and ‘Daylight’ and proceeded to go straight to number 1 in the Australian record graph. In 1985 Jimmy documented a few brand-new music and recut a number of the monitors from ‘Bodyswerve’ for his American debut ‘For The Functioning Class Guy’. The name track was employed for Ron Howard’s film ‘Gung Ho’, the record was blended for American market and documented with American music artists. It sold perfectly in Australia (many times platinum, one of the primary selling albums right here). IN THE US it didn’t sell in any way. Jimmy remaining his crazy years in back of when he remaining Chisel and married Jane Mahoney (he says she saved his existence). He became a accountable family guy and in his existence there was room for rockstar non-sense. He documented two tunes (‘Good Occasions’, ‘Laying Down The Legislation’) as well as INXS for the’Lost Males’ soundtrack and in 1988 his 1st live recording ‘Barnestorming’ was released (and it offered many times platinum right here). After that, in 1990, he documented ‘Two Fires’, his 4th studio room recording. In 1991 he documented a cover recording containing his preferred spirit classics (‘Spirit Deep’) and in 1992 he proceeded to go into a studio room as well as Tina Turner and Diesel to record an excellent new edition of ‘The Greatest’. In 1993 ‘Warmth’ was another brilliant Barnes album that went right to the main from the Australian album chart. An acoustic recording, known as ‘Flesh And Solid wood’, was documented in the same 12 months. Upon this record Barnes was backed from the Badloves, Joe Cocker, Ross Wilson, Tommy Emmanuel, Diesel, Don Walker, Deborah Conway and Archie Roach. His last recording, ‘Psyclone’, was released in 1995. It includes the track ‘Arrive Undone’ that was compiled by Diesel, Jimmy’s brother-in-law (he wedded Janes sister Jep Mahoney). Jimmy documented a different edition of this track using the Dutch music group ‘The Pilgrims’, the brand new version was lately published in holland. Jimmy Barnes can be an Australian folk hero, he’s the ‘functioning class man’ and should anyone ever have the opportunity to see him live you’ll know why. Rock and roll music is usually his occupation and because he’s well paid, Jimmy provides his greatest. He resided in France for some time but came back to Australia. A “greatest of” including an added bonus album filled with rare stuff premiered in Oct 1996 and in Dec 1998, Jimmy toured with the right old “close friends” from the Chisel days.
