Mini Biography

A blue-eyed, chestnut-haired beauty, Joan Weldon trained to be always a singer, and produced her professional debut as an associate of the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Opera Organization. While appearing using the LA Civic Light Opera Organization, she found the interest of Warner Brothers, who required her out of grand opera and place her in equine operas (The Control (1954), Driving Shotgun (1954)), a criminal offense drama (THE MACHINE (1953)) and, most famously, the largest and greatest of the “Big Insect” films, 1954’s Them! (1954). Amidst her film roles, most of them dramatic, non-singing parts, Weldon sang in the Hollywood Dish, on her Television series THAT IS Your Music (1955) and on tour in “The Music Guy” (on tour for 3 years as the repressed Marian the Librarian). She and her spouse have a home in Manhattan.
