Character acting professional John Davis Chandler was created on January 28, 1935, in Hinton, Western world Virginia. He grew up in Charleston, Western world Virginia. High and slim, with fair locks, piercing blue eye, a pale appearance and a sinus, whiny tone of voice, Chandler specific in portraying mean, neurotic and harmful villains. He produced an extraordinary film debut in his exclusive starring component as the titular sniveling, psychotic, homicidal weasel gangster in Mad Pet dog Coll (1961). He acted inside a trio of Westerns for movie director Sam Peckinpah, and is particularly memorable (and terrifying) as the creepy Jimmy Hammond in the wonderful Ride the Large Nation (1962). He was superb as vicious punk Arthur Reardon in The Youthful Savages (1961). He produced an efficiently loathsome appearance like a vile bushwhacker in the supremely spooky horror-western The Shadow of Chikara (1977) and experienced a nice little bit like a bounty hunter in Clint Eastwood’s great The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976). He actually played an excellent guy–of sorts–in Peckinpah’s Main Dundee (1965). Chandler popped up in 3 entertaining drive-in exploitation features for movie director William Grefe: in his wacky finest while the crazed, doped-up Acidity in The Hooked Era (1968), a bad shark poacher in the fun Jaws (1975) duplicate Mako: The Jaws of Loss of life (1976) and an bad container farmer in Whiskey Hill (1977).
