John T. Ryan was created in Brooklyn, NY, on June 17, 1930, the oldest of eight kids. In the 1950s, being a sergeant in Army Recruiting, Ryan embarked on a broadcast career. He hosted the Army’s every week Top 40/superstar interview radio applications, “The Army Present” (1954-56) and “Proportions in Music” (1956-57), both which shown on KMPC-AM in LA. An inveterate ad-libber, Ryan regularly guested on regional L.A. chat shows of the first TV period, including “The Jack port Owens Display” on KABC-TV, along with a Tom Frandsen-hosted evening movie display on what would 1 day be referred to as NBC4. Also in the 1950s, he spearheaded the recruiting marketing campaign, “Procedure Gyroscope,” which presented a 16-year-old Jill St. John as its titular spokeswoman, Miss Gyroscope. Following his operate in radio, Ryan centered on composing, poetry and multi-media art.
