He studied on the music conservatory in Stockholm 1918-1920 with the music conservatory in Weimar 1920-1922. Through the mid 1920s he wrote the music for Ernst Rolf’s and Karl-Gerhard’s revues. He was a bandleader, got his own submitting company, ‘Model Sylvain’ and had written music for films, especially through the 1940s when he was musical consultant for the creation business Svensk Filmindustri (SF). Going back twenty years of his lifestyle he lived overseas, including a couple of years on Fiji being a banana planter. Among Sweden’s most hardworking composers, he had written a lot more than 500 melodies, including ‘Säg det i toner’, ‘Nu ska vi vara snälla’, ‘Anna, du kan väl stanna’ and ‘Tangokavaljeren’.
