Julie was raised on a plantation in the Blue Ridge mountains of southwestern Virginia. Developing up on a reliable diet plan of “Green Acres” and “The Beverly Hillbillies”, she proved helpful her performing and modeling method to NYC to get a summer, was connected, and never appeared back. While living between Europe, LA and NY, Julie acted, did theater, and signed up for a gorilla design filmmaking course where she wrote, directed, crewed and acted in multiple brief films. After motherhood and divorce, she re-embarked on jobs behind the camera aswell as before it. On a journey to Cannes with two fellow divorcees, Julie, only using her handheld camera aimed, shot, and made an appearance as herself in “Cannes WITH OUT A Program,” possible pilot/feature documenting the three women’s impulsive romp towards the Cannes film celebration. A previous collaboration with Jeff Kanew led him to edit and co-produce this comedic, insightful film coping with divorce, sobriety and being truly a solitary mom. The film was as unplanned as the trip itself and demonstrated that because you are no more within your 20’s or 30’s, your daily life is definately not over. “Fiddlin'” is Julie’s most recent directing effort. Along with her sister Vicki, they may be filming this documentary about the multi-generational music artists who are keeping alive the Bluegrass and Hill music from their house state and area. Julie can be developing and composing tasks with Jill Sorensen. Their film organization, Calamity J Productions, offers many tasks in the functions.
