Kesey burst in to the literary picture using the “Cuckoo’s Nest” in 1962 which he wrote from his encounters functioning at a veterans medical center. During this time period, he volunteered for the screening on the medication LSD. After composing his second book, “Sometimes AN EXCELLENT Idea,” he bought a vintage college bus dubbed “Further.” With Neal Cassidy in the steering wheel and pitchers of LSD-laced-Kool-Laid in the cooler, Kesey and a music group of close friends who known as themselves The Merry Pranksters required a vacation across America to New York’s Globe Fair.
