Kevin Collins, created Keith Collins, was raised at a town near Newcastle, Britain, by parents whose beliefs had been socialist and devoutly Methodist. He was the long-time roommate and partner from the movie director Derek Jarman. Both met in the Tyneside Film Event in 1987. At that time, Collins was composing software for the federal government.
