Carol Monson (aka Laura Shelton) was created Carol Jean Set Shelton on Sept 5, 1935 in Eastland, Tx, and raised primarily in Un Paso, Tx. She graduated from Austin SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL in 1953. She was wedded briefly to classmate Frank Grimmer while going to Texas Western University (right now the College or university of Tx at Un Paso). After divorcing and earning a contest to seem on a tv game display, she was provided a scholarship towards the renowned Pasadena Playhouse’s College of Theatre, referred to as the Hollywood “Celebrity Manufacturer”, where her contemporaries included Oscar-winner Gene Hackman and Rue McClanahan. While there she fulfilled and later wedded actor/movie director Carl Monson in 1961. In 1964, with Carl, she founded the Drape Call Theatre in North Hollywood, a critically acclaimed invitational playhouse operate by professional stars on the cooperative basis. Furthermore to employed in the theatre through the entire 1960s, Ms. Monson centered on her tv profession as “Laura Shelton” and her two kids, Clay Monson (created 1964) and Cristen Monson (created 1969). Her last stage appearance was as “Elsa Schraeder” in “The Audio of Music”, starring Oscar-nominated Ann Blyth for Houston’s Theater Under the Celebrities in 1969. After her second relationship finished in 1972, Ms. Monson shifted from California back again to El Paso to supply a home on her behalf children.
