After returning from your Navy in WWII, Leonard (Lenny) South was offered employment in the Warner Bros camera department where he trained to be an assistant cameraman. After learning his build, he was provided a camera helper placement with Robert (Bobby) Burks, ASC. During his stint being a camera assistant with Mr. Burks, both caused Alfred Hitchcock who had taken a preference to Lenny. Lenny acquired a natural skill and character that Hitchcock valued. On Hitchcock’s following picture, Robert Burks brought Lenny on as the surveillance camera operator and after that the pact was produced. Lenny done 14 films with Alfred Hitchcock until Hitchcock’s loss of life in 1980. After Lenny became a Movie director of Picture taking, he photographed several movies aswell as tv shows with other directors. However, he and Alfred Hitchcock continuing their lifelong romantic relationship and in 1976 he photographed ‘Family members Story’ with Hitchcock and was nominated that calendar year for an Academy Award. Together that they had a lifelong camaraderie and knowledge of the concepts of filmmaking. Leonard South died on January 6, 2006
