Luther W. Ossenbrink, known appropriately as Arkie the Arkansas Woodchopper, initial documented in Dallas, Tx on Dec 6, 1928 for Columbia Information. The songs had been “The Cowboy’s Fantasy” and “The Dying Cowboy.” He was a vocalist and played your guitar, and documented a dozen even more cowboy tracks between 1928 and 1931. Being a vocalist, he was also an adept yodeler aswell, utilizing a trickier edition of Jimmie Rodger’s ‘blue yodel’ on “I’m a Tx Cowboy”, documented in November, 1931. Ossenbrink produced his radio debut on KMBC in Kansas Town in 1928.
