Mini Biography

This sly-faced actor joined Toho in 1956, and was shortly playing villains of 1 type or another, most famously in the nearly dialogue-free role from the elusive gangster in Ishiro Honda’s Bijo to Ekitai Ningen (aka The H-Man, 1958). The next year, Toho marketed him to stardom in Kihachi Okamoto’s shock smash strike, the cynical battle picture Dokuritsu Gurentai (Desperado Outpost, 1959). Thereafter he divide his time taken between toplining Toho’s battle images and gangster images (however, not generally as the villain today). Usual of his gangster movies are Ishiro Honda’s Shinko no ko (1960) and Jun Fukuda’s Ankokugai no Kiba (Fangs from the Underworld, 1962). This last mentioned function allowed him showing off his comedic abilities, as he performed a gangster who’s constantly disappointed in his hobby-quest to construct the perfect home of credit cards. Sato remains functioning and much popular in Japanese movies and Television through present.
