Karger was married to Ann Conley from the “Ann & Effie Conley Sisters” Vaudeville Work. He was among the unique founders and the overall supervisor of Metro Photos in NY before they shifted to Hollywood and merged with Samuel Goldwyn and Louis B. Mayer to create MGM Photos. His boy Fred Karger was a composer and a vocal trainer at Columbia Photos. Romantically associated with a Marilyn Monroe from 1948-1949, Fred broke with Monroe, and finally wedded Jane Wyman in 1952.
