Antoine Malliarakis, aka Mayo, was created in 1905 in Egypt, the child of the Greek engineer along with a People from france mom. Although he held a Greek passport throughout his existence, he was culturally French and resided in France for 1 / 2 of his existence after departing Egypt. He found France to review architecture but began frequenting creative circles within the Paris from the roaring twenties and made a decision to turn into a painter rather. He made a full time income designing cabarets and, later on, designing outfits for stage productions, while carrying on to color. In 1944 his friend, article writer Jacques Prévert, suggested him as outfit developer for the traditional period piece “Les Enfants du Paradis”. The film was popular and allowed Mayo to lead a 20-yr profession in French movie theater, designing the outfits (and occasionally the landscapes) of many classics. For the time being, he also worked well as art movie director on many advertisements. With the first 60s, as well as the coming from the “Nouvelle Vague”, period items became less regular, and Mayo experienced less work gives. He ultimately made a decision to keep movies to focus on his paintings. Having relocated to Rome, Italy, within the mid-sixties, he finally were able to make an excellent coping with his paintings only. Unfortunately, in the first eighties, Mayo steadily dropped his eyesight. In 1984 he relocated back again to France and passed away in 1990, aged 85.
