Mini Biography

Mia was created in Coconut Grove, Florida, to a family group of dancers. Her dad and dance instructor, Joe Michaels, trained her jazz, faucet and ballet, while her sister, Dana, trained her modern dance. Though she started her teaching with users of her family members, she also qualified at Miami Conservatory, the Miami Performing Arts Middle and Michigan’s Interlochen Arts Academy, in addition to, the New Globe School from the Arts. Her 1st work encounter was with her dad in the Miami Dance Middle, despite the fact that she started choreographing at age 11. She still works together with her dad at Joe Michaels Miami Dance Middle. She’s also trained dance in a number of schools, like the International Dance Event of Italy, Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida, so when a visitor jazz teacher in the Broadway Dance Middle in NYC. She’s choreographed for Madonna’s “Drowned Globe Tour,” Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, Prince, DK 96, Jon Secada, PYT , and Jimmy Ray. She’s also caused Debbie Allen and Dreamworks with an AMC wire series “Great Women.” She’s choreographed some advertisements, some award-winning, for the WNBA, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Bacardi, Coldwell Banker, Ziploc, Woman Luck Gambling establishment in NEVADA, MTV’s “Hot Properties,” Superstar Television and VISA. She actually is the founder, artistic movie director and choreographer of RAW (Truth AT THE JOB), a critically acclaimed New York-based dance firm begun in 1997. Mia’s modern dance firm “Mia Michaels R.A.W.” provides performed in Seoul, Korea, the Jazz Globe Congress, the International Dance Festival in Amsterdam, the Gypsy Task, Jacobs Cushion, and the brand new York Town ’99 concert period. In 2001, the dance firm continued a 6-week Western european tour.
