Mini Biography
Mike Watt grew up in San Pedro, California, where he created the legendary punk rock-band, Minutemen, with D. Benefit and George Hurley in 1980. The trio continued release a 11 albums in under six years and toured maniacally, but the tragic loss of life of Benefit in late Dec of 1985 triggered their abrupt demise. Watt and Hurley continuing to play jointly in a fresh band known as “Firehose” with Ed Crawford from 1986 until their eventual break-up in 1994, launching five studio room albums throughout that period. Mike released his debut single record in 1995, using the musical involvement of close friends like Nels Cline, Mike D, Flea, Petra Haden, Adam Horovitz, Krist Novoselic, and Stephen Perkins. Watt provides documented with countless incredible musicians over time and he in addition has appeared in a few Raymond Pettibon movies as well.
