Mimi Miyagi was created Melody Damayo in Davao Town, Philippines, the next of four kids. Her parents had been strict Seventh Time Adventists, so when the family members transferred to California, Mimi remained with them until she reached high-school age group, at which period her parents delivered her back again to the Philippines to become educated within a Seventh Time Adventist school. She finished senior high school and signed up for an Adventist university, but dropped out after a season. She had got involved with radio broadcasting at the faculty and made a decision that she wished to pursue a profession in the entertainment sector. She came back to LA and gained a scholarship or grant to a style merchandising college, but lost curiosity about the field and slipped out. While buying work she stumbled in to the adult-film business–she responded to an advertisement for “nude versions”–and decided that was a sensible way to make some extra cash (she was nearly broke). She started available by causing a “amateur” video using the infamous Ed Power beneath the name “Mimi Miyagi”, Mimi being truly a nickname her grandmother acquired provided her and Miyagi getting the character in the “Karate Child” film series.
