Brice qualified being a mining engineer, after research at Columbia University or college. He was ultimately hired as product sales supervisor for the Tx Oil Company, located in NY. This appears never to been employed by out, since Brice popped up in Hollywood for his first spell, as a little part acting professional in comedies starring Pearl White colored, between 1913 and 1914. After many years absence, where he dedicated himself to additional business passions, he returned towards the film market like a screenwriter in 1921. Then varied as movie director of one- and two-reel pants for Paramount from 1927 to 1930, sometimes doubling up as maker. After departing Paramount, he aimed W.C. Areas in his 1st talkie, the traditional two-reel farce The Golfing Specialist (1930). After 1935, Brice concentrated on screenwriting and creating original scenarios for feature films — possibly solo or in collaboration — and later on became portion of Bob Hope’s team of gag writers. Brice was wedded to previous vaudeville dancer and celebrity Doris Hill, whom he previously previously directed in Casey in the Bat (1927).
