Progressive rock/metallic band that shaped around 1990 in Stockholm, Sweden. The music group went through different lineups before buying the existing lineup of Mikael Åkerfeldt – guitars, vocals (1990-)/ Fredrik Åkesson – guitars (2007-)/ Martin Axenrot – drums, percussion (2006-)/ Martin Mendez – bass (1997-), and Joakim Svalberg – keyboards (2011-). Their sound ranges from dark and death metal to folk, traditional, blues, and also jazz…often within the same song. The music group have gradually been getting ultimately more deserved interest with every launch – their tenth studio room effort, “Heritage”, produced #19 within the U.S. Billboard 200 upon its Sept 2011 launch. The music group is now focusing on a follow-up towards the record.
