Paul Tanner played trombone with Glenn Miller’s civilian orchestra. He also performed trombone with Charlie Spivak, Les Dark brown, Tex Beneke, Henry Mancini, Nelson Riddle, Frank Comstock, Billy Might, and many more. He was initially trombone for the American Broadcast Firm (ABC) in LA for 16 years. He was an arranger and composer and in addition performed with Eugene Ormandy, Arturo Toscanini, Bruno Walter, Leonard Bernstein, Zubin Mehta, Walter Hendi, Andre Previn, etc. He constructed many published functions for trombone at differing levels from challenging dual concertos to easy solos for youthful players. He authored many books on trombone technique and probably the most utilized textbook on the annals of jazz, “JAZZ,” today in its 8th model.
