Richard Lowry began making very 8 films as a teen, then following seeing ‘Superstar Wars’ dedicated himself to learning to be a critical filmmaker. Lowry’s initial film, ‘Hawk Jones’, starred an all-child ensemble and was filmed in his hometown of Moline, Illinois. The film offers since founded a cult pursuing and by August, 2014, is definitely playing in concert halls nationwide within the Alamo Drafthouse film circuit. Lowry has directed many independent features which were distributed worldwide, two which were produced for Dark Equine Comics. ‘Monarch from the Moon’, a satire from the 40’s serials, was hailed by film critic Leonard Maltin as “…the film Sky Captain as well as the Globe of Tomorrow’ aspired to become.” With his most recent feature ‘Dominion’ completed, Lowry has one film in pre-production and many in development, including an ‘ultimate Star Wars short fan film’.
